I volunteer in my church's bus ministry on the weekends. We pick up children in the area (with parental permission), take them to Sunday school, and drop them back off at home in the afternoon. We play games, sing songs, and have a great time while teaching them about God.

The most important part of being a nanny is patience. Being able to keep your cool while dealing with stressful situations is a must when attempting to both feed a 2-year-old and disentangle a skirmish between two young boys intent on "winning the wrestling match."
My experience with special needs children...
I have babysat for a family who had a child with autism. He was 8 and non-verbal but very sweet.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was with a family with 3 kids, ages 2, 5, and 7. The older two loved playing hide and seek, but the youngest would always give them away. The ordeal would sometimes end in tears, but overall they were very good kids who got along very well.
