More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My grandmother owned a daycare for many years so I grew up caring for other children to help her. I was a girl scout leader in my early twenties and I have babysat many times and helped raise my nieces. I also was a foster parent for almost 3 years caring for teenagers which are very difficult to place and have been a nanny since I came to Lexington in 2015

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to teach children at the level they are ready to learn. I am old enough to be responsible and observant and I'm not distracted by my phone or television I think children should have more interaction with humans rather than screen time but I will follow the parents lead

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing is being engaged with the children and keeping the parents informed of their progress or any problems that may arise. I love watching them grow and learn and letting them know they can trust me and to feel safe when I'm there.. I can provide references upon request I do not use Facebook I am not distracted by my phone so I can give all the attention to the children

My experience with special needs children...

As I said I have been around other children of all ages since I can remember I have a lot of experience with babies toddlers And even teenagers . As a registered nurse I have plenty of experience and competence to take care of a special needs child. My grand nephew is 14. He survived a cancerous brain tumor in 2017. We were always close wnd he will always need care but we are Blessed to have him with us.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite times are when one baby I took care of, he couldn't even walk yet ,but he would hear my voice at the door in the mornings and come crawling down the hallway crying at me to fix him a bottle immediately he was so precious. He would climb my leg and wait for me to get the bottle completed
