Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have done lots of weekend babysitting gigs throughout the years. I have babysat for small groups with 7 children, volunteered at Vacation Bible School, and my mom even popped out a baby when I turned 18! I have always been drawn to children, and just love them.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Having a positive impact on a kids life. Showing them respect, love, and discipline. Teaching them tools in life, and watching them implement them in their own life. Creating opportunities for growth. It's also very important for nannys to be emotionally aware. Kids can be a lot, and if a nanny is ever triggered in any moment, It's their job to go back and heal their triggers. No matter what a kid does, it's our duty to respond with love and respect. To teach them how to do better without making them responsible for our feelings. Every nanny (and parent) makes mistakes, but it what we do with our mistakes.

The most important part about being a nanny...
It's hard to pick a favorite nanny moment with a job so fulfilling. A job filled with laughter, love, hugs, and pictures drawn specifically for you. But here's one of the many moments that left me proud. I was unloading an instacart grocery delivery from Costco. The 5 year old I was nannying for loved helping me. We got down to the end and a big costco box was all that's left. I asked him, "would you like to play with it?" He instantly got excited and grabbed it from me saying, "You can make something beautiful out of anything!" I felt so proud. The little boy who always wanted that flashy new toy, listened and absorbed the lesson from our book that morning. The lesson being, you can make something beautiful out of ANYTHING.
