My experience with special needs children...
I worked in a facility doing one on one with children from the ages of 4-9 with autism, I would teach my kids colors and numbers and how to play in different settings and allowing them to be themselves in a control environment. Learning there likes and dislikes. Also learning their triggers and better understanding them.
