A little bit about me

I have taught Music Education in public schools for the past 18 years, and have a Bachelors Degree in Music Education, as well as a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction. I have studied child development and special needs instruction throughout my tenure with LAUSD, and am looking for a more fulfilling career in which I can better serve the needs of individual children, rather than spreading my talents across 2,000 students per week in the public school arena. I love children and I love music, and I am gifted in teaching both children and music. My compassion and intelligence are strong assets any family would cherish. I’m originally from the Midwest, my family values include clear expectations and reasonable consequences. I will endeavor to learn what motivates your child(ren) and adapt to your family’s parental limits for motivation and discipline. I am not amenable to any kind of physical punishment, but I will uphold your rules and expectations with positive and negative consequences. I am not a doormat, no one will walk on me. But I am not the disciplinarian, I will report to the parents any serious issues that require more intervention than I am comfortable applying. I would also very much like to be included in the discussion of discipline, so that I can be most effective in enforcing family values and expectations.
