A little bit about me

Hi! I am a reliable nanny with over 5 years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old. I have over 4 years of experience caring explicitly for infants and toddlers and a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Studies. Being the caregiver of a nursery for 8 infants was incredibly rewarding work! I spent almost 3 wonderful years working as a nanny to an infant and a toddler as well. I also have experience implementing ABA therapy for children with autism. I have taught ESL virtually to children in China and had fun working with children of various personalities and backgrounds. I currently work as a Family Support Specialist which involves meeting with parents weekly to share info on child development, behavior, discipline, and just being an extra support person for parents. Although I love it, I'm wanting to go back to nannying! References provided upon request!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Krayola Learning Academy, Oct. 2016-May 2017: I was the assistant teacher of a class with twelve 1-1.5 year-olds. I assisted with lesson planning, circle time, and crafts. I also helped fulfill the needs of the children like changing diapers and facilitating all meal times. / Barnyard Kids, Jun. 2017-Aug. 2019: I worked in multiple classrooms providing care to the needs of each age. I was a lead caregiver to a class of 8 infants. I assisted part-time in pre-k classes. The tasks ranged from diaper changes/feeding to planning lessons. / Dec. [phone number hidden] I was a full-time nanny for a lovely family, and I cared for a toddler and an infant. This is my favorite childcare experience so far! My responsibilities included play, meal prep, diaper changes, naptimes, some academics, extracurricular activities, and small household chores.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing a safe, loving, and nurturing environment to the children of families who need it is an integral part of being a nanny.

From my experience with kids and raising my current 3-year-old, I have the proper self-regulation tools to handle the emotions/needs of little ones. Children should be treated with respect, empathy, and love and have freedom within limits. Kids have big feelings that shouldn't be ignored, punished, or suppressed. I will use difficult behaviors/big feelings as moments of teaching your child how to regulate themselves. Under my care, your children will NEVER be yelled at, teased, ridiculed, or handled roughly. I follow the authoritative parenting style ("gentle parenting" - not to be confused with permissive parenting).

My experience with special needs children...

I have 8 months experience as a Registered Behavior Technician. With this position, I worked 1-on-1 with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. The children I worked with were aged 3 to 9. As an RBT, I recorded data of unique behaviors and performed protocols according to the child's treatment plan.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are when I see a change in development and maturity from my current kids. Seeing that they've learned a new and functional way of doing something on their own makes me proud that they have learned well!
