I was a volunteer mentor and chapter coordinator with Eye to Eye in college. Eye to Eye is a national mentorship organization that pairs grade schoolers with learning disabilities with college students with similar learning disabilities for weekly empowerment art rooms.

one of my older nanny kids once hugged me and told me he felt he can truly be himself around me. This same child threw a shoe at my head my very first day with him years prior! So it meant a lot to know that my persistence and care had a profound effect on him and that he felt safe with me.
