A little bit about me

Hi my name is Ashlei Behrens, I am a Junior at St.Ambrose University, I am majoring in nursing, and have my license for certified nursing assistant (CNA). I haven’t had much experience with paid child care but I have an 8 year old brother whom I raised along side my mother. I also have 2 younger cousins who I babysat all the time when I was in high school. I absolutely love kids of all ages and will be able to provide care to kids of all abilities, as a CNA I have worked with adults with disabilities and know how to provide any needed support. I will be able to assist with any homework that kids may have, I am able to cook and clean, and do diaper changes. I am available Monday-Friday all day till about 5 or 6PM, through August 1st. I enjoy taking kids to local parks and museums, swimming, playing board games, playing with toys, sensory play, watching movies, building forts, and much more!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think that the most important part would be communication with the children. Allowing the children to communicate their needs helps their mental development. Another thing that I think is important is a mixture of playing with others and playing independently, both of these help a child develop social skills and allow the kids to have an imagination of their own.
