A little bit about me

I'm 36 I have a 13yr old son. I've been in professional child care centers since I was 18. It was on and off I was also in college. I stated babysitting alone for friends & family at 15. I'm also a certified Pharmacy Technician, so I'm up to date on all medication dosages, and very knowledgeable on side effects of most medications, and if child was on kind of antibiotics ect, I could catch a bad reaction very soon.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been an infant room teacher for 3yrs. I have also worked in the young one yr. old rm, but I also nanny for 4 families whom children attend the daycare I work. The families I nanny for now the age range is 8 wks-3yrs old

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy a good walk usually 2 times a day if weather permits. I enjoy singing songs with toddlers or singing to infants. For infant play: belly time with some music I have a whole play list on my phone, also for sensory or motor skills 5mnth+ jolly jumper with socks and shoes off make different sensory bags W/paint water, slime, ect let bby jump and feel different textures. I also enjoy the same activity where bby can use hands to feel as well. I love this for toddlers and older kids, but I usually use paint and let them make a beautiful art piece for mom and dad🥰 I enjoy playing game with the older kids such as ring around the Rosie, we play London bridge, put together puzzles, and honestly any other activities the child or parents may want me to do.

My experience with special needs children...

So I haven't worked with special needs children very long. We had a lil boy he was adopted so his parents didn't have a ton of info on him the birth mom would not share much other than she was a addict and alcoholic. This bby was born W/alot of stuff in his system. He had fetal alcohol syndrome. And was also on the spectrum. He didn't stay long BC they felt he would have been better off at a daycare that specializes in special needs, but I have had to redirect him when he is getting worked up about something if he's starting to get frustrated with a toy or a project that he's doing we try to walk away take a break find another toy. Now he did have fits when it was time to change centers and come inside. So I would set him his own personal timer that he way knew when it went off he it was time for outside, his favorite center , or lunch. Thats all the special needs experience that I have had.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments wld be with the newborn I have now she was barley 4 weeks old we feel aslep on the couch they had been in FL since Fri this was wed am @330am mom took a pic and she loves the pic and told her friends how great I was and how much her 17 mnth old loves me.
