A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Ashley, a responsible and caring 17-year-old who truly enjoys working with kids of all ages. I’m CPR and First Aid certified, with a background as a lifeguard, so safety is always my first priority. I grew up in a big, family-oriented household, so I know how important it is for parents to feel confident about who they leave their children with. I’m reliable, patient, and calm under pressure — whether that means helping with homework, keeping little ones entertained, or handling bedtime routines. I’m also happy to help with light chores, meal prep, and keeping the house in order while you’re away. I believe in showing up on time, staying fully present with the kids, and making sure they feel safe, cared for, and heard. I’m looking for families who value open communication and mutual respect, and I’ll always do my best to make your life easier while keeping your children happy and safe.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part about being a nanny is making children feel safe, understood, and valued. It’s not just about supervising them — it’s about building trust so they know they can rely on you. When a child feels secure, they can explore, learn, and grow with confidence. I also believe supporting the parents is just as important — keeping open communication, respecting their routines, and making sure they can step away knowing their child is in good hands. Kids remember how you made them feel, and parents remember how you made their lives easier.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with special needs and am comfortable adapting activities, routines, and communication styles to meet each child’s unique needs. My focus is always on creating a safe, supportive, and positive environment where they can feel confident and included.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was with a 5-year-old I watched regularly. He was shy and struggled with reading, and I could tell it made him frustrated. One afternoon, I brought over a small stack of picture books I loved as a kid, and we decided to make our own little ‘reading club.’ We’d take turns reading pages, and if he got stuck, I’d gently help him sound out the words. Over a few weeks, I watched him go from avoiding books to proudly reading to me without help. The day he finished a whole book on his own, he ran to show his parents, and seeing the pride on his face made me realize this is why I love caring for kids — those small victories that mean the world to them.
