More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My most recent experience was during COVID. My youngest cousin could not attend preschool, so his mom hired me full time to prep him for kindergarten.
We’d spend the mornings learning the alphabet, how to spell and write his name, and other things with the help of a Pre-K YouTube channel I found. We then practiced what he’d learned in the show to ensure his success. After lunch, we’d go look for lizards and other creatures on a variety of trails in Big Bear- his favorite being one in Boulder Bay. I’d research fun facts about the wildlife and trees in our community, and I’d teach him a new fun fact every day. We had a blast, and it was the most fulfilling job I’ve ever had. I miss it.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
All things outdoors: bicycle riding, hiking, walks around the lake, walks around the neighborhoods, chalk, basketball, baseball, corn hole, playing at the park, picnics, etc.
Indoors: any kind of fun learning games or activities, finger painting, story book reading, baking, and occasionally movies, though the tv isn’t my first choice.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Listening, patience, and effective communication, in my opinion. As a nanny you get to be part of a child’s everyday life. You get to teach them things, celebrate milestones, and be creative. I think by listening, displaying patience and effective communication, you are giving them great tools for their future success. I think it helps them to understand their emotions and needs better too.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I was prepping my little cousin for kindergarten in Spring of 2021. We were walking a trail along the lake one day. All of a sudden, he got real quiet and started sneaking up on a lizard he spotted. It was his first time catching one! He started cradling the lizard, with a smile from ear to ear. He then kissed his index finger, passed the kiss to the top of the lizards head, and then let him go. He was just happier than ever! It was a sweet moment, and very fun day together.
