I am a 19 year old college student studying Social Work and Criminal Justice at the University of Pittsburgh. I am planning to work with children and adolescents in the future and helping with mental health. I played volleyball in high school and love everything surrounding sports, including playing and watching. I am currently a tutor in Homewood for 3rd graders in math at a community center, through the University of Pittsburgh. I also have 2 younger siblings, a sister who is 6 and in first grade and a 10 year old brother in fifth grade.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think as a nanny or babysitter it is very important to have a connection with the kids and always have the attention on them. At the younger ages it is extremely important to be nurturing and being able to teach them life skills even when the parents around is helpful in their development.

My experience with special needs children...

My mom is an autistic support teacher and I have helped out in her classrooms from a young age. I also worked with a little boy who was autistic at the tutoring center and I love being able to connect with them at their level.
