Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
1. Babysat for families at church starting age 12.
2.Highschool: Nanny to 16 year old non-verbal autistic boy and 5 year old sister. I was also coached two years for our school's special education basketball team.
3.I worked as a nursing assistant at Union Hospital on the labor & delivery unit for three years. There, I assisted doctors with deliveries, cared for mom and baby after birth, and performed newborn screenings. I also floated to the pediatrics floor to take vital signs and care for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome babies.
4. I ran my own in home daycare for two years before my youngest started school. Once my son entered into kindergarten, I closed and went back into the workforce, working as a Wellness Specialist for our local government. I am missing working with children and am looking for a new family to love and care for <3

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Walks, geocaching, playgrounds, library storytime & activities (when I ran my daycare we went at least twice a week) puzzles, zoo, aquarium, rock painting, chalk, sprinkler, gardening, sandbox, boardgames, anything animal related, nature preserves, crafts, bubbles, diy obstacle courses, cardio drumming!, and more
The most important part about being a nanny...
As a nanny the most important part is meeting all of babies physical needs, while providing the love baby needs. I keep my kids safe, but also happy and stimulated. I view myself as an extended member of my children's families, and truly love kids like they are my own.
My experience with special needs children...
I was previously a nanny to a 16 yr. old non-verbal autistic boy. I also cared for a cognitively challenged young lady when I ran my daycare. I also have a nephew, who has been diagnosed with epilepsy and autism. I have worked in pediatrics and encountered children of all abilities during this time, and I have also worked with many adults of varying abilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One year in February, I made a diy Valentine's Day photo background, grabbed my chest of vintage kids clothes, and went to town taking pictures. The pictures all turned out so cute and I made copies for all the parents. It was fun to make the backdrops and the kids cooperated so nicely, and any excuse to use my vintage clothes! The whole experience from start to end was really enjoyable.
