A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Astrid. I am 21 years old and an anthropology major. I absolutely adore working with children of all ages. Most of my nanny experience has been within my family, however, I have the need to branch out and help ease other families lives.

I prefer to work with infants-6 years old, however, I do love working with children of all ages.

I take pride in caring for your children. I love to tutor, teach, and help young minds grow. Reading is also very important so I am more than happy to read to your children even if they are infants and even help them learn to read too.

I also LOVE to cook so I am perfectly fine with meal preparation. I am willing to do light house cleaning too, like your children's laundry and keeping things neat.

I am also really good with animals. However, I am very allergic to cats.

I love to take children to parks, on walks, and anything to get outside at least as often as staying in.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have a long history of family with children. Every child I have taken care of were so beautiful in every way. I've taken care of multiplies, neuro-diverse, and even some who have mobility problems. I love helping out and making lives of everyone much easier.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading, going on walks, playing with legos, going to parks, cooking with children, going to and arranging play dates, and helping with homework. I believe it is very important to help children's minds grow and develop every day. While I do love video games and computers, I think it's a good idea to take a break and enjoy the world outside.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping young minds grow and develop. As well as, helping lighten families stress and allowing them to spend less time doing things they don't want to do, like laundry and meal prep, and more time bonding.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with mobility issues, autism, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and fetal alcoholism. My written experience isn't a lot, but, I've worked with many people even in a temporary capacity and I would have to say, I love what I do.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One day, a young girl I was caring for was sad because she wanted to play with her older brother. However, he had a friend over and started being rude and even mean. I took the boy aside and explained why what he said and did was wrong and he sent his friend home. Afterwards we all sat down and combined their interests and decided to have a super hero tea party. We had so much fun and the boy learned a valuable lesson on respect for his siblings.
