I worked in a daycare [phone number hidden]! I have worked giving children horseback riding lessons, and been the occasional babysitter as well!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My favorite indoor activities are bubbles! I love to watch the younger infants try to figure out their hands because they want to touch them! Also, for sensory stimulation I have laid out saran wrap and covered it with shaving cream and practiced ABC's. This is excellent hand eye coordination practice. My favorite outdoor activity is definitely making mud pies or sand castles (age permitting of course). I also enjoy helping little ones ride their bikes, go on walks, and collect pretty rocks/ leaves! Being outdoors is my favorite thing, so weather permitting I try to be out there as much as possible!
My experience with special needs children...
In the daycare setting we did have two children with autism as well as one with Down syndrome. I am comfortable working with them and trying to keep them as relaxed as possible while having fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment working in my infant class has been helping the babies learn to walk. I cry every time they take their first steps, I tend to get very attached to the kiddos I work with!
