I volunteer over the summer with my sister, she does EC with Elementary Schools. I'm also about to do an internship next year.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Arts and crafts, Walking/Excersing, and basically anything acvtive, I also like to teach basic things like cleaning, proper hygenine, matching of clothes, outfits that go together, making the brain work and see colors together in fun ways!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being there,, any special occasion or any firsts that the kid is doing. Knowing their happy when I'm around, knowing they can speak to me and trust me.
My experience with special needs children...
I do help my sister out with her EC classes, I've worked with her for a little over a year now. I'm very patient and understanding. Normally if they have a break down I take them to a corner and talk about it and let them get feelings out because they can be emotional and not know how to deal with it or let them out.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I haven't got to nanny yet, but I do watch my niece and my favortive thing was watching her first steps and her finally understanding who I was and being happy to see me!
