A little bit about me

Hi, I'm a 22-year-old psych major at at a community college. The majority of my experience comes from growing up in a large family with numerous children and serving at a religious summer camp. I have a red cross babysitting fundamentals certificate and have completed the online classes required to correctly administer CPR, AED, and First-Aid to infants, children, and adults. Now for the fun part: I am an extremely caring woman who values creativity and the freedom to express oneself. I do so while also respecting the parents (entirely!) from a non-biased position. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement and am well aware of my importance in a child's life. If given the chance, I am confident that I have what it takes to be a great caregiver. I have volunteered at a religious summer camp. I have also babysat for children in my family, including my family-in-law.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

(These activities vary from different age groups)
Inside: reading, playing make-believe, coloring, arts and crafts, board games, playing music, dancing, playing video games (even though I am terrible) and overall- being silly
Outside: (Depends on weather and varies with rules and regulations)
Sports that are safe and children friendly such as kickball.
Playing with water toys
Playing hopscotch, jumping rope or my all-time favorite hulla hooping.
Tag for sure! Freeze-tag most definitely! I enjoy interactive games like red-light-green-light.

Integrity. Even when no one is looking you still do what is right by the child/children and/or parents.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was the age of 15, my niece was born. Around 3 months old, I would babysit her when my older-sister was off to work. I would always put her to sleep by cradling her and caressing the bridge of her cute button nose. Well one night she woke up around 3am and I immediately tended to her, letting my sister rest. I prepped a bottle, picked up my niece and did the proper steps of feeding/burping. After she had her meal, she practically fell straight asleep in my arms. What made this moment different than the rest was the fact I didn't put her in the crib when I knew she was ready. I sat there, absolutely basking in the moment I was given.
