More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I took care of my little brother and sister majority of the time growing up and going to school. He is now 16 and she is 7. I’ve ran a daycare at the age of 16 by myself with many age range of kids at the same time from 6 months old to 9 years old. I’ve watched 7 kids at the same time with good feedback from parents if would like that provided. I was juggling 11th and 12th grade and 7 kids on the side still graduated. As far as I’ve seen now those kids growing up with the little bit of time I was able to be around them helped greatly. I can see the mark I left in the kids as they’re respectful, active and happy. I like to ensure an active environment with almost to no screens and let the children learning about our environment and the fun they can have with a little imagination and creativity.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am a very big art person I loved to draw and create things with almost nothing popsicle sticks, straws, pipe cleaners. I’m also very active I don’t rely on technology to take care of the children, I could provide walks to the park or a stroll through the neighborhood find a couple flowers and learn about a couple animals we see along the way. If you have a dog I’d be happy to bring them along for a walk or play with the dog outside if the weather is nice. Also I can help with homework or create activity books to ensure the child still gets education through the day. I’m more than happy to have a bit of imagination and find fun activities to ensure the child is occupied and happy through the day.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the child the house and you are safe is my number one priority. The most important part is making sure at the end of the day before I leave and go home if the child was happy, safe, fed and learned at least one new thing that day and that the parent is also happy and satisfied with how they’re kid was watched. Also that the child genuinely had fun and enjoyed the company while their parents were away. I also would like to add when the child is smiling and so happy when the parent returns I think it’s jus the sweetest thing in the world when they’re so excited to see mom or dad walk in the door.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve lived with a special needs child for about a year in a half he was non verbal and had stability problems as well and had to use a walker but he could crawl normally and although he couldn’t say full words he could communicate with his hands and going to whatever he needed or wanted. He was a very sweet boy and a lot of the times I would change him, feed him, take him his brothers and our dog to the park and I had gotten really close with him and his brother as they’re mom wasn’t around as much. They relied on me a lot even though their grandparents were around they were as able to do the things the kids wanted so I’d take them to our neighborhood parks almost everyday with my little sister as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I playing games with the kids or creating little houses with popsicle sticks or at the park playing kickball with the kids I’m watching and the local kids at the park it really brings out the inner child in you and to be able to get kids now these days to look away from the screen and actually be a child and enjoy the best parts of life is the best part about being a sister, babysitter, parent or sibling. I want and hope to be a teacher one day and be able to push kids to enjoy being a kid while it last, having fun creating memories with friends, going outside a playing with flowers or a little dirt. Having fun being you and appreciating the things around you.
