Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I help multiple families in my neighborhood, as well as family friends. I have a few toddlers I have worked with that were special needs so I have some experience there. I also volunteered at my old church, I helped with children around 1-8 there.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love hands-on activities with kids! I especially enjoy doing arts and crafts, or going outside and running around. I'm also very passionate about reading so I try and tell kids as many stories I can. And if movies are involved you can count me in!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Letting kids have a positive person in their lives, I know when I had a babysitter I always thought they were so cool and I always had the best time with them. I want to be that babysitter who kids enjoy spending time with, I don't want them to dread the time they are looked after. I guess I just want them to have someone they can have fun around and look up to. I also really enjoy spending time with the kids and watching them grow, wether it be socially, physically, or even in vocabulary. It's a very special time for kids, it's where they start to develop their own opinions and I think it's so amazing to see first hand!
My experience with special needs children...
I have helped one little boy (6 years) pretty frequently who is special needs and requires a lot of attention, as well as a little girl who is on the spectrum who I've babysat many times. But no matter the circumstance I will help out and try to positively reinforce any kids I work with!
The most important part about being a nanny...
When the little girl I've worked with since she was around 1 (currently 4) wanted to match outfits with me one of the days we were spending together, made my heart melt.
