More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As the oldest of eight siblings, I’ve spent most of my life helping care for babies and younger children, so being around little ones has always felt like home.

I started volunteering in my church’s nursery when I was 13, and not long after that I began babysitting for families in my community. Over the past three years, I’ve been nannying professionally, and it’s something I’ve genuinely fallen in love with.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love getting kids out of the house! You’ll usually find us at the library, the park, on a walk, or swimming. I also love taking kids to their sports and activities, cheering them on, and helping them practice. When we’re inside, I enjoy planning fun activities like movies, board games, learning games, dance parties, quiet time, reading time, and independent play.

My experience with special needs children...

I also have experience caring for children with autism and cerebral palsy, and those experiences have been some of the most rewarding parts of working with kids. They’ve taught me that every child communicates, learns, and experiences the world in their own way. I always take the time to learn each child’s routine, personality, and what helps them feel comfortable and successful. I believe patience, consistency, and encouragement go a long way, and I love celebrating every milestone. My goal is always to create a safe, supportive environment where children feel understood, and free to be themselves.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny memories is from the little girl I cared for the longest. When she was younger and couldn’t talk yet, she had a habit of chewing on her board books. Every once in a while she’d manage to chew a perfect little hole right through the middle of a page. Then she’d flip to that page, realize part of the picture was missing, and immediately start whipping her little head around all frustrated WITH ME because she couldn’t see the whole page. She had the funniest little personality and so much sass from such a young age. Those are the moments that still make me laugh whenever I think about her.
