More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at an in-home daycare where I helped care for children ranging from infants to preschool-aged. My responsibilities included supervising playtime, preparing meals, assisting with educational activities, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. I also supported daily routines like feeding, diapering, and nap schedules, while helping children develop social and basic learning skills in a nurturing setting.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
really enjoyed planning and leading creative activities like arts and crafts, storytime, and sensory play. I loved watching the kids learn through fun games and hands-on experiences. Outdoor play was also a favorite part of the day—it gave the children a chance to explore and develop motor skills. Helping with early learning activities, such as teaching letters, numbers, and colors, was especially rewarding because I could see their growth over time.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with both the children and their family. It’s essential to create a safe and nurturing environment where the children feel cared for and supported. Ensuring their physical, emotional, and mental safety is paramount. Consistency in routine and boundaries helps children feel secure, while clear communication with the parents about the child's needs and progress is key. A good nanny needs to be adaptable, able to adjust to the child’s changing moods and stages of development. Patience and empathy are crucial, as understanding the challenges children face and responding with kindness can make a big difference in their growth and well-being. Ultimately, a nanny should be able to balance providing care with fostering an enriching, enjoyable experience for the children.
My experience with special needs children...
have hands-on experience caring for a family member with special needs—my sister has Treacher Collins syndrome. I assisted with her daily care, including managing a feeding tube and providing tracheostomy care. This experience gave me a deep understanding of patience, attention to detail, and the importance of compassionate, individualized support. It also taught me how to stay calm and focused in medical situations, and to work closely with family members and healthcare professionals to meet her needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was helping a shy toddler say their first few words. We had been working on simple sounds during storytime and songs, and one day, they looked at me and clearly said “book.” It was such a small word, but a huge milestone. Seeing their face light up—and their parents’ reaction when I shared the moment—was incredibly rewarding. It reminded me how meaningful the little everyday moments can be in a child’s development.
