I was a preschool teacher for two years, and a nanny for a two year old over that summer! I babysit all the neighborhood kids back home, but want something more stable and permanent than an occasional night of watching kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love bringing stickers for the kids to decorate my shoes with, I’ve learned it’s everyone’s favorite. Depending on their age, I let them help me cook. When I’m outside I love to encourage their creativity so I often bring a bowl of water out and a paintbrush, and we can “paint” the cement! I love coming up with activities for each child as I get to know their personalities.

Being an advocate in a child’s enjoyment and learning is crucial. My job as a nanny is to encourage them to grow and experience the world in the most positive and meaningful ways!
My experience with special needs children...
In high school I would help out in a special needs classroom for an hour and a half each day. I currently work with some special needs adults in an assisted living facility.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite activity is bringing pop up stickers and having the kids decorate my shoes. The one day I didn’t bring stickers, my little two year old gave me the cutest glare and asked if I was using my stickers with a different girl and not her. She demanded to see my shoes so she could see I wasn’t decorating them with anyone else. I love when I can make these fun routines and memories with those who I nanny.
