The way the child feels, if they are safe if they are feeling down or happy. And how the parents feel too. The child is the focus but the family as a whole is also a big part too. If one falls apart that could affect the child (children) and even the parents, so being there as a friend and helper to a family is an important part of being a nanny.

Seeing the kids and parents accomplish a major goal.
I had a kid that wanted to be a track star, so we started working out and running with his family. I joint track at school to help get some experience and we both end up making our track teams , him for a YMCA and me from middle school - high school. He still runs and seeing him happy makes my heart melt.
