I would say the most important part about babysitting is tending to the child or children. Nothing you are doing is more important than helping the child/children you are caring for.

My favorite babysitting memory is when I was babysitting a 6 year old and I helped him climb the monkey bars and he eventually was able to do it on his own and when he did it by himself the first time he got down and gave me a big hug and thanked me for teaching him. Its little things like that, that make me appreciate babysitting.
