More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at a day care for almost 6 months and loved it but the management was not very good. I have also cared for many different families over the past 6 years. I also have enjoyed volunteering at special olympics. If you would like references please ask.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I have enjoyed doing with children include art, playing outside, reading books, snuggling on the couch, going on walks, building forts, etc. This is just a small list of things I love doing when watching kids. Personally I feel that I have to meet the kids or kid to best know how to best tailor the week to their wants and needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a nanny is being a good role model and teacher to the children you watch. People underestimate how much kids look up to us. I feel that we need to try our best to be the kind of person that our kids think we are. Although it can be hard at times, we must be patient and understanding in every situation.
My experience with special needs children...
I have volunteered at special Olympic where I was able to work with all kinds of children with all sorts of abilities. I have also babysat for a family who had a child with autism for 6 years. I loved being able to work with him.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I was watching my sweet little 3 year old friend. I remember walking up to his house and knocking on the door and all I hear is him yelling, “MOM MISS BAYLIE IS HERE!!” Then I hear his little feet run through the house to let me in and he runs and gives me a big hug. Then he leads me to his room so that we can play with his trains. It was just such a sweet moment that to this day makes my heart smile. He is such a sweet little guy and will always have a special place in my heart.
