A little bit about me

Hello! I am a full-time student in college and am on the search for a job during the Fall 2021 semester. I just moved up here, and since school is still online, I thought it to be a perfect opportunity to help out with children who are still facing the pandemic's isolating circumstances. I have not formally worked under the title of a nanny, but I have babysat since 2015, working with children from ages 10 months old to 9 years old. I am also currently a camp counselor and Water Safety Instructor, where I teach swim lessons to children of all ages. I love working with children and would love to become more experienced with being a nanny. Not to mention, I am fully vaccinated and follow all Covid-19 precautions as instructed.

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts and crafts with children and doing mini craft projects with them. Since I am a swimming instructor I am comfortable with children of all ages in the water, of course, children less than 6 months would not be in the water as New York State law states on my certification. I love reading books to children, and if they're older I enjoy having them read. Sometimes a TV show is fun, but it's more entertaining and interactive to play with the toys, play-doh, legos, go outside, board games, cards, and various other activities for preoccupation. Being a good student in school, I am always willing and able to assist with homework or studying if needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is bonding and taking care of the children. Aside from other responsibilities such as light-house keeping or dog walking, it is most important to be comfortable and interacting with the children because the job is much more than watching the children and caring for tasks around them. It is important to learn the individuality of every child and understand who they are as a young person.

My experience with special needs children...

I have not directly worked with special needs children; however, I have the patience to learn and adapt to working with special needs children. I understand every child is different and responds to various forms of care and I have zero issues with accommodating to the individuality of the child or children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Since I have not formally been a nanny, I would have to say my favorite "nanny" moment would be when I was babysitting 2 boys from 3-10 that evening, we were playing monopoly after dinner and they were rolling-laughing so much at the fact they would somehow always land on the others' housed property and have to pay the other. It is so interesting and cool to see how children interpret things because most people would be upset having to spend all their monopoly money on the properties. It was a fun, light-hearted game which is great when children work together and get along because at the end of the day it is just a board game.
