More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was called to be my mom’s assistant in our church nursery. I also took a Child Development class my senior year in high school that allowed us to care for toddlers and babies of the teachers that worked there.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love arts and crafts. I used to do a lot with my niece. We make Valentine’s boxes every year, we love to do chalk art, we like to have drawing competitions, and anything like dot-to-dots, color by number, or word searches will have us hooked for HOURS. I love to be adventurous and try new things, especially if they involve going outdoors. Picnics, hikes, camping, etc. During the holidays, I’m super big on traditions and I’d love to do them with your little ones! Trick or treating for Halloween, hand turkeys for Thanksgiving, baking cookies for Santa for Christmas morning! I love to do it all! Movie nights and game nights are definitely going to happen too! I love to bake with my niece and try new things so I’d love to do the same with others!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Learning and gaining experience is what’s important to me along with building relationships. As an expecting mom, I want to get the most hands on experience possible and learn how to handle emotions in the most gentle & loving way possible.
My experience with special needs children...
Not much but I am willing to learn. I took a Peer Tutor class my junior year and it was one of the classes I enjoyed the most. Getting to help friends who have a different way of learning was very interesting to me and it really helped me realize that people see things differently. I loved getting to know how they learned and why they had to learn that way.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I babysit for a friend I go to church with sometimes. She’s a single mom and she has a 5 year old son but I’ve been babysitting him since he was 3. They moved to Vegas for a little and when they came back, they had to quarantine. So I decided to take him a little basket of goodies to let him know I was thinking of him and that I miss him. I left it on their door step and went home after ringing the doorbell. His mom called me later that day and he was crying because he wanted to give me a hug and thank me for the basket. Just to see how much love and appreciation he had for me and what I did made me super grateful.
