More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been the go-to nanny for many of my family members when their children were under 10. The primary child I was a nanny for was my niece, and I started when she was a year old. I took her to school in the mornings since she was a car rider. In addition to taking her to school, I would go grocery shopping for her mother, do laundry, and perform any other household tasks. Lastly, I have been a substitute teacher for elementary schools.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy taking children to participate in outdoor activities, such as visiting the park, attending children-oriented events, or staying at home and engaging in activities like arts and crafts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important aspect of being a nanny is building a strong relationship with the child or children. Although this is our job, we need to see past the lens of it being "just a job." As a nanny, I want to be a role model for the child. I want to support them in growing, learning, and much more. They are under our care and must show how much we care about our actions and relationships while not enabling unwanted behaviors. So, overall, being a nanny is important to me as children are very impressionable, and we as adults are there to guide them.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have experience with special needs children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was attending my niece's fifth-grade end-of-year award ceremony. Her mother was unable to participate in it since she had work that day, and I gladly and happily went to support her. I also took pictures and videos for her mother. I understand how vital it is for children to see that they have support, so if any children have events such as an award ceremony or a chorus/band performance, I will happily attend!
