A little about me: I was born in Houston and spent roughly 30 years living in the Netherlands, where I was raised by my Dutch family. I’ve traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States and love learning about different cultures, history, art and nature. I have a lifelong appreciation for art and even spent some time studying at an art school. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music (including live performances), cooking, photography, visiting museums, exploring new places, and spending time outdoors. I am also a big animal lover and share my life with a small, well-behaved dog.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve spent most of my adult life caring for people. Over the years, I’ve worked as a nanny, preschool teacher, special education assistant, private home health aide and hospice caregiver.

After spending the last 10 years caring for seniors, I’m excited to return to working with children. I miss the energy, curiosity and joy that kids bring into each day.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading, arts and crafts, outdoor play, swimming, trips to the park, helping with homework, imaginative play and supporting children’s individual interests and talents.

I’m also a strong swimmer and am comfortable supervising children in and around pools while maintaining close attention to water safety.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite things about working with children is seeing them happy, confident and free to be themselves. It brings me joy to watch children discover their interests, express themselves through play and creativity and grow in their own unique way. I feel privileged to be someone who helps create a safe and supportive environment where that can happen.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working in a residential care setting supporting children and young adults with special needs and physical disabilities. The individuals I worked with lived in small group home environments (approximately 6–12 residents per home) and ranged in age from about 7 to 21 years old.

My role included supervision, assistance with daily living activities, emotional support and helping each individual develop independence while ensuring safety and structure in a home-like setting.
