More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I spent several years as a camp counselor, where I had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with kids of all ages and create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for them. I also worked as a Theatre Specialist at the same camp, leading activities and helping kids express their creativity and confidence. I’m patient, dependable, and love keeping kids engaged through play, creativity, and activities! I also have experience from other babysitting apps like Wyndy and Care. I also was a Camp Counselor at my Colleges dance department summer dance camp.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor Activities such as drawing, Barbies and action figures, reading, watching tv, playing with buildings blocks or legos.
Outdoor Activities such as playing catch, going for a walk around the neighborhood(if allowed), playing on playground, supervising them riding their bike, and anything else that they’re interested in doing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny to me is living a good and positive impression on not just the parents but also the child I am caring for. It takes a lot of trust for a parent to let someone around their child and to help care for them. So with that, I want to make sure that a child feels comfortable, seen, heard, and most of all happy when I am in the position of caring for them.

My experience with special needs children...

Although I don’t have that much hands on experience with special needs children. I will say when working as a Camp counselor. I got to experience dealing with more special needs children. It was difficult at first honestly, I was scared that I would say or do something that would set them off. So, I would kinda lean towards the more experienced counselors at that time to take lead. But during my second year, I noticed I needed to just stay calm for not only myself but for them as well. And to just in that moment be there for whatever they needed. Whether that’s giving them a sensory toy, to go for a walk down the hall, or even just being a listening ear.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment as a nanny was exactly my most recent job on Wyndy. I babysat this 6 year old boy Camden. His parents were going to the doctor for a checkup because he was being blessed with a baby sister soon. The job was pretty early in the morning but during the summer, so I didn’t really know how Camden would be feeling. But as soon as we met he was the most extroverted and talkative little boy I’ve met. I think I honestly was a bit more shy than him, and he made me feel right at ease too. By asking if I wanted to watch him build with his blocks. Camden made such an impression on me because he interacted with me so calmly yet so organically. Almost as if I was a family friend of theirs for a while.

Piper B. - Seeking Work in Memphis

Babysitter Available in Memphis, TN: Piper B.

Hi! I enjoy working with kids and find it incredibly fulfilling. Most of my experience comes from the classroom/coaching, so I’m comfortable with children from all walks of life. I put in the work to build trust with the kids I’m responsible for instead of depending on my authority as a grown-up and as a result I see a long term difference in behavior and overall happiness. Every child deserves a caregiver who sees them as an individual and is invested in their success and safety.

While my certifications have lapsed, I have extensive training with CPR, first aid, and AED usage as well as lifeguarding experience.

Amanda H. - Seeking Work in Memphis

Part-Time Nanny Available in Memphis, TN: Amanda H.

I am a single mom to two amazing teenagers, a 17-year old daughter, and a 14-year old son. They are my heart! I miss the days of caring for them when they were younger.
I am in between careers, and I would love to help a family care for their most important member part-time! I am open to the way you want your child cared for, as I know we all have our own ways that we prefer to raise our children. I love to play, read, sing, and rock little ones. I am open to taking them to library story hours and programs like kindermusik and music for aardvarks! I believe it is important to talk to young children, because that is how they learn to talk! I whole-heartedly believe that children learn the most by watching what we do and by engaging in active play. I am a very loving, nurturing, and patient person, and I would love to care for your precious little one!
