I used to nanny a lot of my younger cousins growing up and participated in a lot of educational activities for the local youth during my undergrad. I was also employed by LG sitters and would nanny around the Los Gatos and San José area.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Is doing something active such as playing outside like tag, soccer, or whatever game we come up with. I also really like to partake in arts and crafts such as painting or drawing and found that the kids really enjoy it as well. In addition most kids are really into video games so if the parents allow I try my best to keep up with them on that as well.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children is limited but I’m not opposed to learning. During my undergrad, my sorority and I would volunteer at the California School for the Blind in Fremont and go hangout with the children there playing games and arts and crafts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was playing make up with these two girls 5 and 6 that I frequently nannied and they surprisingly did not too bad. The only problem was that I was late to a friends potluck and arrived with a very new and stylish make up do. I’m sure they all liked they way my eyeshadow connected to my lipstick.
