My experience with special needs children...
I’ve cared for my nephew with autism for 6 years. He’s non verbal at times but he has learned to speak a lot more fluently. He has taught me alot about being more open and understanding to him and others with autism. He has also taught me to listen to him more and to understand him and the way that he thinks. I love the way his mind thinks and how he does things in his own way. He brings so much joy into my world and I strive to make him happy everyday. I’ve spent 2 years away from him, which killed me a lot since I’ve missed so much memories but he has also made me very very proud.
