A little bit about me

I have two kids ages 2 and 11. We are a very active and energetic family. I think it’s important to keep children learning and engaged. I have worked with kids mos of my life and couldn’t imagine it any other way. I am extremely organized and would love to help get your home and children’s schedule that way as well. I am also easy going and a good listener so don’t be afraid to ask me more about anything. I can also send a resume on request as I can’t post one here.

"She has a way with children. Such as an amazing big loving heart, to great communication and being able to be on the child's level, to smart intuitives to keep and maintain the child's safety. I also have witnessed such patience and calmness in stressful situations. Truly trust worthy to the maximum. I feel completely comfortable with her taking care of my children. A sence of security and I feel like i never had to call and check on my baby. She is truly amazing. "

"Bridget watched my son for date nights and anytime we needed a sitter for work or events. (We moved and now she is pretty far, otherwise we would still be using her) She is prompt, friendly, goes the extra mile, and made the conscious effort to follow our sons routine exactly as if we were home as to not mess up his schedule. She also was always willing to help around the house and introduce new activities for our son! She would bring lots of little things to do with him and new stuff for him to look at. She loves him like her own, and he is always happy to see her! "

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Assistant teacher at Centralia Collage Children’s Lab School, Paraprofessional substitute teacher, PTA Vice President, school volunteer, women’s and children’s shelter volunteer, differently abled child support person, babysitter, photographer, and playground monitor.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going for walks, playing at the park, discovering things outside and using them in art, identifying what we see and how things change.
I love to make crafts out of anything. Children are extremely creative and I support them in their many ideas, when safe and appropriate.
Baking with children and letting them help in the kitchen and with chores is also something I am passionate about. If you make things fun they will do them gladly and it teaches good habits.
I get kids singing and dancing to let energy out indoors. I also turn to many sources for ideas based on my surroundings and supplies to come up with new activities and variations of things they enjoy. Activities are so personal to who is doing them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most important things about life is having integrity. I think it’s important to lead children by example. If you want polite children who are responsible and productive, you have to be as well. You also have to show them how to enjoy what they are doing and make life fun while being productive. I don’t believe in harsh physical punishment, as guidance works much better and faster. When you show a child what to do they have something to put in place of what not to do. It is important to be firm with rules while being kind though. When rules are consistent children tend to follow them. I like to talk to families about the rules they have and consequences for breaking them to ensure a seamless transition when you get home. I also believe children need to be kept involved in their community and culture when parents are gone, so I am happy to support and traditions and values you have.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with a range of abilities and personalities. I have worked with children with add/adhd, odd, ocd, bipolar, autism, Down syndrome, physical disabilities and many more. I often volunteered in the differently abled class after the teacher asked me to sub for her while making copies one day. When I told her I wasn’t a teacher, she told me I could be a Paraprofessional sub because I had volunteered so long she would be my professional recommendation. I have also volunteered with several organizations that work with children with disabilities per the years.
