The most important part about being a nanny...
I babysat for three weeks straight for my uncle. He had seven children, plus a baby. Well, About a week into babysitting, I was driving home from picking the kids up at school, and the eldest daughter piped up and said, Brielle, do you know that we forgot my little brother's birthday? Let's get it straight: We didn't forget they didn't inform me it was almost his birthday. Well, rather than letting him know, I quickly got home and went to the little boy and told him a happy birthday. At this point, it was like 11 a.m. I put all the kids in the car, took him to the coffee shop to get a treat, then quickly sent out invites to all his friends, ran to get gifts at the store, and proceeded to go home and threw him a big fourth birthday with cake, bouncy houses, presents, food, candy bags, and had my mom make a cake and bring It to the party with my younger brother we even had a paw patrol piñata. However, it was really tiring, but it was all worth it to hear him say it was his best birthday

Babysitter Available in Rapid City, SD: Vanessa B.
My name is Vanessa, and I believe that every child deserves to feel seen, safe, and celebrated — especially those who navigate the world a little differently. I've been working as a respite care provider for military families for a little less than a year, and in that role I've supported a child with Autism and Down syndrome. But my deepest teacher has been my eight-year-old brother, who has level 3 severe autism. Growing up alongside him has shaped not just how I care for children, but who I am as a person. I am certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED. I also have certification for Safe Sleep Practices, and Medication Administration in Child Care. I know that caring for a child with special needs takes patience, flexibility, and a willingness to learn every single day. It also takes a heart that sees the child first. That's the approach I bring with me, shaped by years of loving my brother and strengthened by the professional experience I've gained since.
