A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Brielle, and I am 20 years old. I’m a rising junior at Hampton University studying kinesiology. I plan to attend medical school in the future and hope to become an orthopedic sports medicine physician.

I grew up with two older brothers and have a toy poodle named Onyx, along with two turtles. I love dancing and have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I also enjoy music and have recently started getting into reading, which I’ve been really enjoying so far.

I love working with kids and have experience caring for younger cousins, family friends’ children, and working at KidSpace at Columbia Association. I’m responsible, patient, and enjoy creating a fun and safe environment for children!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I have cared for children includes being a peer tutor throughout high school, as well as working with KidSpace at Columbia Gym. During college, I have also volunteered at daycare facilities and learning centers, where I supported and engaged with children in educational and recreational settings. In addition, I have experience working with children with special needs, which has helped me develop patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities:
• Arts and crafts
• Reading and story time
• Homework help and tutoring
• Educational games
• Music and dance activities
• Outdoor activities:
• Playing games at the park
• Sports and active play
• Walks and outdoor exploration
• Fun, safe physical activities to keep kids active and engaged

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny, to me, is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where a child feels seen, heard, and valued. Aswell as being someone the parents can trust! It’s not just about supervising them, but really being present helping them learn, grow in confidence, and feel comfortable being themselves. I also think it’s about building trust with both the child and the family, so parents feel at ease knowing their child is genuinely cared for.

My experience with special needs children...

Throughout high school, I was a peer tutor and worked with children with special needs, including autism, Down syndrome, and ADHD, and other learning differences. In college, I’ve also volunteered in group settings and assisted in special needs after-care programs, supporting children with activities and learning in a structured environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I was helping a child I was caring for who was very shy and didn’t like group activities. Over time, we started doing small creative projects together, and I introduced her to simple dance games since I’ve loved dancing since I was young. One day, she confidently joined in a group activity on her own and even showed the other kids a little dance move we had practiced. Seeing her come out of her shell and feel proud of herself was really special and reminded me how rewarding working with children can be.
