Rich Evening!
My name is Brijion Johnson and I’m interested in picking back up on my nanny/childcare experiences. I have worked with children of all ages for 10+ years and lovingly have a great passion for the nurturing and teaching of children. Caregiving and nannying brings me a joy that I almost cannot fully express. Both of my parents have had child care facilities in which I have been an employee at both. I have been a lead infant and toddler teacher at both of the schools I’ve worked with, while I reside in Las Vegas, Nevada before the pandemic hit. I love to read, write, sing, dance and explore nature in exciting ways like hiking, swimming, sun gazing, planting, affirmation nature speaking and much more. I look forward to a new journey with a new family and community because I know that my energy and my personality is one that is one of a kind. I show up for the children in every way possible and therefore have faith that the right people will find me to as to their life/joy.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My previous experience with children includes nannying for families working my parents child care facilities. Approximately 5 years of this experience, which then led to my teaching/day care career in Nevada; starting in 2021. I’ve worked as a lead infant and transitional toddler teacher at both Creme De La Creme & Merryhill Preschool. References and previous employer feedback can be given upon request. I have coached 2 dance teams; for both children and adults and have cared for families/children (in home) of the respective schools that I have taught in. I currently support an organization called Children Striving Together which provides guidance, support and life skill activities, events and resources for children of all ages, but especially adolescents ranging from 8-18 years of age. Well respected and appreciated in every facility that I am apart of and would love the opportunity to share my joy with you!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some activities I enjoy doing with children is painting, singing, dancing, building, fine motor skills activities, gross motor skills activities, some climbing, stacking, Rising bikes, feeds animals, sun gazing & much more! Each child is different therefore it’s best to gauge their character traits to see what catches their eye the most when it comes to play, fun, intellectual desirability, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The Most Important part about being a nanny is the idea that one MUST show up every day, being PRESENT for and with the child. Children pick up on emotions and energy so very well, and it’s important to know that sometimes it’s better to leave your personal life at the door before stepping in to care for the little ones. Understanding that these are growing, evolving humans can take huge amounts of patience, but knowing that we all were once there gives me joy. It’s important to know that being a nanny is a great example to the child that there are many loving, supportive and hurting adults out there. Building trust is key!

My experience with special needs children...

Children with autism, ADD, ADHD, behavioral/emotional imbalance, hard of hearing, deaf, asthma, sensory impaired, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’d have to use the example of my usual departure after caring for the children. More often than not, my families kids will stand by the door, shed a few tears at the door or even send me off with big smiles at the door when they don’t want me to leave. Often times, we will sing our goodbye songs together and that’s when the child(ren) will tug a little tighter on my pant leg or reach a little higher to get picked up. I love it!
