Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was previously a nanny for 5 children ranging from 4-18. I loved being their nanny and watching the amazing things they accomplished. I could’ve been their nanny forever, but they moved out of state and I had to find a job elsewhere. I now have a little one of my own who just turned two. So, I also have experience with newborns-2 years old. I have taken care of my nieces and nephews who range from newborn-12 years old currently.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love planning and doing activities that have learning built into them somehow. I don’t like to stick the kids in front of the television or a tablet, but I do give them about an hour of screen time if warranted. I’m currently going to school for education to be an elementary school teacher, and love to come up with plans for the kids throughout the day or help with homework after they get home from school. Going on walks, to the park or beach or mountains, playing in the backyard in a sandbox or playhouse, playing with chalk, bike rides, coloring or drawing, writing, cooking and cleaning, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love kids and the most important part about being a nanny, for me, is the guidance and protection of the children at all times. It’s scary to trust somebody you don’t know with your children, because they are your whole world and you don’t want anything to happen to them. My daughter is my entire world, my whole heart…if I had to trust somebody with her I’d want to know and feel that she’s going to be the most important thing of that persons day.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moments are when they are having fun and learning and they look at you and smile. They are excited to be learning something but it’s also fun for them and then when their parent gets home and says that was their favorite part too then I know I was doing something right by them.
