More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as an au pair for 2 and a half years. I have experience working with children from 3 months up until high school. As an au pair during COVID, I supplemented school materials to ensure the children would not fall behind and still find some normalcy in a similar routine. I also created fun and engaging activities that allowed them to learn in a less structured environment. I enjoyed being outdoors with the children. We went on lots of hikes, trips to the park or even in the backyard.

I worked as a teacher in Paraguay, where I taught English as a second language. I taught both elementary and high school students. My students all had very different language levels and I adapted my lessons accordingly. I also wanted them to gain practical speaking skills and encouraged games and hands-on activities.

I have over 5 years experience with childcare, in different settings. I am active, creative and flexible.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Crafts and fun educational activities.
Hiking and adventure walks.
Playing at the park, going to the zoo, going to muesems that are age appropriate.
Puzzles, card games and board games.
Imaginative play.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny is a privilege I take very seriously. I know how much it takes to trust someone with the safety of your child/children. Above all, safety comes first.

Secondly, I believe it is important to engage with the children and create an environment in which they are able to learn and explore without necessarily feelings stuck in a classroom environment. Children absorb everything and it is so important to create an environment caters to that.

A part of being a nanny it is building a relationship with the family and the child. I will most likely spend a lot of time with your child/children. I believe it is important to have a good understanding of the family's values and model that out to them.
It truly does take a village to raise a child. I believe my role is to be a part of the team.
