My experience with special needs children...

I have a large amount of experience caring for children with special needs - from those children nonverbal on the autism spectrum to those with genetic disorders who need the help of a wheelchair. I love creating safe and caring bonds with kids. I recently was caring for six children at a time all with diverse needs, and that is where I thrive. I love that everyday brings new challenges.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Was when one of my nonverbal kiddos used sign language for the first time to communicate his wants. Finding what a child is passionate about in that time, even if it is something as minute as spinning, is the key to bonding and communicating with them. Showing interest in their interests, no matter how different their interests might be.
