A little bit about me

Hi! I have just graduated from the University of Delaware with a major in Early Childhood Education (birth-grade 3) with a concentration in Special Education. I am a full time livestock manager with a flexible schedule given advanced notice and a soon to be K-3 teacher in Frederick County Public Schools. I am looking for one time or recurring gigs to make some extra money on the side to save up for classroom supplies! While in college I was a night nanny to two little girls who are now 4 and 2.5, when I started they were 18 months and not even thought about yet! Throughout high school and college I had various recurring babysitting families with children ranging from infants to 12 years old. I am comfortable with pets, have my own transportation, and a clean driving record. I also offer tutoring for an extra fee!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

During college I student taught and had methods placements in various ages. I spent weeks in methods placements with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and first graders. I student taught 12 weeks with 2nd graders and 12 weeks with 4 year olds who had severe and profound disabilities. I was a night nanny of two children (ages 4 and 2.5) for 3 years. I have babysat various ages for 8 years. I work on a petting farm where I interact with and educate children and adults on a daily basis.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to be outdoors! I think the outdoors is the best place for kids! I enjoy engaging in games and playground activities outside and messy play! I enjoy setting up and helping with crafts and hands on activities such as playdough. Any interests the child shows me I follow and enjoy doing whatever they wish!

My experience with special needs children...

I have babysat and tutored children with various disabilities and student taught 12 weeks with 4 year olds who had severe and profound disabilities. Disabilities I have experience with include, but are not limited to, autism spectrum disorder of varying degrees, downs syndrome, chromosomal abnormalities, physical delays, cognitive delays, developmental delays, speech delays, cerebral palsy, etc.
