More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have grown up babysitting, in my late teens I worked I worked 3 summers at a Christian youth camp in WI- serving as a camp counselor and Bible teacher for ages 3-18, I have volunteered in children's ministry at church in years past, I have been a dance teacher for ages 2-8 for about two years, and I have nannied professionally for a year and half now. 😊
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Nature walks 🌿 🐞 🐛🦋 🌷🌳(looking at bugs, flowers, trees, leaves, etc. and talking about it), dance parties 🩰, building forts, baking, arts and crafts, playing outside, water activities, bubble machine, tea parties, etc.!!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Protecting and nurturing the heart, soul, mind, and body of the child who is in your care. And, to have FUN and make memories they'll never forget! It's important to not be afraid to get on their level, remembering what it's like to be a kid. I like to come up with imaginative ways to teach and communicate that reflects how THEY think and learn, while also preparing them for the world we live in. 🤎
My experience with special needs children...
I grew up with an autistic sibling and am very familiar with many traits and coping mechanisms. Autism looks very different from person to person, but I have a huge soft spot in my heart for the previous value that special needs children hold, and also eyes to see the many hardships that come along with learning how to navigate life with a neurodivergent brain. 🤎

It is sooooo hard to pick just one favorite memory, so I'll share a couple.
Memory #1: My kiddo adored water activities and slides, so for her 4th birthday I got a giant water inflatable with a slide, and she played on it all day long and then we went and got muffins (her favorite treat) after. Seeing my kiddo so happy and excited is always such a blessing to me!!
Memory #2:
Baking chocolate chip cookies together
Memory #3
This isn't really a memory, but I love to see my kids grow and learn. For example, when I am trying to teach them an idea over time and they finally start recognizing and doing it themselves, is so rewarding!

I absolutely love working with kids! I was a summer camp counselor for three years with girls ages 6-14. I have also babysat for numerous toddlers, elementary-age kids, and middle-school-age kids. I find working with kids and just being around them to be the most rewarding and heart-warming thing a person can do.
Live-In Part-Time Nanny Available in Cleveland, TN: Abby H.
I’m an incoming college freshman majoring in education, I’m from Nashville and will be heading to Cleveland, TN for school. I won't need work until the end of August! Right now, I’m looking for work to help pay for tuition and everyday college expenses. I love arts and crafts and anything hands-on. I was also involved in theater in high school, so I really enjoy spending time with kids and coming up with fun things to do together. Whether it’s crafts, games, going to the pool, trips to the zoo, or just hanging out at a playground, I like keeping things fun, safe, and interactive. I’m patient, responsible, and bring a lot of positive energy. I’m also happy to help with homework if needed and enjoy supporting kids as they learn. I love baking and cooking, and I’m always very careful when it comes to allergies or dietary needs. I also don’t mind helping with cleanup, I know kids can be messy, and I’m glad to pitch in wherever needed to make things easier for you!
