I am a young non-binary caregiver with lifelong experience in childcare and animal care, including volunteer work in both fields. My early childcare experience began before my teen years, and caring for my nephew over the past two years reignited my passion for supporting children’s growth and development. I recently relocated and plan to complete CPR and First Aid certification as soon as possible.
I have hands-on experience caring for children ages 1–7, including diaper changes, bath routines, playtime, meals, and healthy nap and bedtime habits. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Before beginning four years of paid babysitting and nanny work in my youth, I volunteered in a Sunday school program at a friend’s church. I also helped care for the children of close family friends as the “older kid” before eventually becoming their regular babysitter.
More recently, I had many opportunities to care for my nephew, supporting him consistently and watching him grow and develop over the past two years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging children in creative, educational, and imaginative activities both indoors and outdoors. Indoors, I like using toys, books, and everyday objects to encourage curiosity, early learning, and problem-solving skills. I enjoy reading stories, creating simple puppet shows, playing imaginative games, and occasionally watching age-appropriate shows together while discussing themes or lessons.
Outdoors, I enjoy encouraging children to safely explore the natural world, helping build their imagination, confidence, and sense of wonder. Activities may include walks, playground time, nature observation, and creative play that supports physical activity and curiosity. I strive to create fun experiences that also help children learn important life skills such as communication, creativity, and confidence.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me is making a meaningful difference in each child’s life through a balance of education, play, exploration, and wonder. Growth often happens gradually, but over time it’s incredibly rewarding to look back and feel proud of how far a child has come and the role you played in supporting their journey.
I value the opportunity to meet many unique personalities and ways of thinking. Each child has their own imagination and perspective, and I enjoy stepping into their world, encouraging curiosity, and helping them feel confident as they learn and grow. Being part of both the learning process and the joyful moments of play is what makes childcare so fulfilling to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience supporting children who benefit from consistent schedules, clear communication, and structured routines. I provide patient guidance, adaptable activities, and supportive environments for children with attention, communication, or developmental differences.
More recently, I have cared for children with speech delays and slower developmental progress, spending extra time encouraging communication through conversation, play, and reading. I work closely with parents to follow established routines and expectations, including allergy awareness and other safety considerations. I prioritize creating a calm, understanding environment where each child feels supported at their own pace.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite memories was creating a character called “Big Bear” to help encourage my nephew’s communication skills and imagination. I would use a large stuffed bear, giving it a deep but gentle voice and personality, and we would play together regularly. Over time, he began interacting with the bear more confidently, practicing conversation through play. One day, I walked in to find him independently talking to his stuffed animals while doing his own “Big Bear” voice. When he noticed me, he continued the conversation in character, proudly sharing what Big Bear had to say. It was a special moment that showed his growing confidence, creativity, and communication skills, and it reminded me how meaningful imaginative play can be for development.
