Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I currently teach Kindergarten and have taught all the way to grade 5 for 25 years. I have also raised three children, two of which are grown. Apart from my career, I occasionally babysit for families in the nearby surrounding area of Montclair, NJ. Caring for the whole child is what I simply do on a daily basis!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Yoga, Exercising, Hiking, Reading, Cooking, Coloring, Local Travels to Museums, Libraries, etc...and anything STEAM related.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a Nanny is the impact on families that you get to make and the safety you offer in caring for their children. I remember having my first born and not being able to comfortably work when he had been in the arms of a sitter. The worry that goes along with such can be tormenting mentally. I want when families hire me to care for their child/children, they know that they are safe and in the arms of someone who genuinely cares.
My experience with special needs children...
I work with all children whether cognitive or learning challenges. I have a special love for children on the Autism Spectrum and often channel my inner patience when working with them. I am also certified as an educator to deal with a range of special needs children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite Nanny moments are the children that grow into teenagers and adulthood who come back to show their appreciation. To this day, I have students that reach out to me with great appreciation stating that I was their favorite and made an impact on their lives. This is the best part apart having so many children pass through your hands of LOVE!
