A little bit about me

I am 56, raised 2 boys, have a background in education (certified to teach middle/high school). I worked as a nanny for 3 different families throughout my 20's while I was in college. I also worked at daycares, taught at a montessori style preschool, worked as a para-professional in Special education, and was a cub scout leader. I homeschooled my kids until middle school and helped establish a homeschooling cooperative in my community. My children are adults, so I moved in with my elderly mother who needs assistance and was alone. I am actively involved in my church parish which brings me great joy. I understand the importance of the relationship between a caretaker and the family she works with, and work hard to establish and foster trust. I have never been fired. I prefer to work under 30 hours a week, but could work more. My hours are flexible. I am willing to obtain cpr/first aid training

I am 56 years old, the mother of two adult boys. I worked as a nanny and in daycares throughout my twenties while I was in college getting a degree in education. I taught high scool english and worked as a para-professional in special education. After having my own children, I homeschooled them until they were in middle school and helped establish a homeschool cooperative in my community. I recently moved from Montana back to Georgia to live with my Mother who is 79 and was living alone.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Establishing trust and understanding the values and priorities of the family. Being reliable, patient, and adhering to the rules and wishes of the parents. To have someone entrust me with their children is an honor and privilege and I hold it as sacred.

My oldest son is on the autism spectrum
I worked with special needs middle school students as a classroom aide and Title 1 tutor. I also worked as an advocate for special needs families.
