Hi! My name is Camiyah, and I’m a 17-year-old early high school graduate with a genuine passion for working with children. I earned my First Aid and CPR certification during my junior year through a Sports Medicine program, and I have two years of professional experience working with children from infancy through elementary school. References from families I’ve worked with professionally are available upon request. My experience with children started long before I began babysitting professionally. For the past nine years, I’ve also helped care for my four younger siblings. Those experiences taught me patience, responsibility, communication, and how important it is for children to feel both safe and respected. I believe childcare is about more than simply keeping children safe it’s about making everyday moments opportunities to learn, keeping things fun and engaging, meeting their physical and emotional needs, and giving children the respect and independence they deserve.

I enjoy doing a mix of fun, creative, and educational activities with children, such as arts and crafts, reading, outdoor play, age-appropriate games, helping with homework, music and dancing, simple cooking activities, and educational activities that turn everyday moments into learning opportunities. I also enjoy letting children use their imagination and take the lead while providing guidance and encouragement.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’d say the most important part of being a nanny is building trust with both the child and their family. Children need to feel safe, heard, respected, and cared for, while parents need to know their child is in good hands. A nanny should be patient, dependable, attentive, and willing to make everyday moments both meaningful and fun.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with mild autism, including a toddler-aged girl and a school-aged boy. Through these experiences, I’ve learned the importance of patience, clear communication, consistency, and adapting activities to each child’s individual needs. I focus on creating a safe, comfortable environment where children feel understood, respected, and supported.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was watching a little girl I cared for go from being very shy and hesitant around me to eventually running up to me excitedly when I arrived. Over time, we built a relationship through reading, playing, and little learning activities. Seeing her become comfortable enough to trust me and show her personality was such a rewarding feeling and reminded me how meaningful childcare can be.
