A little bit about me

I am a 43 year-old former preschool teacher for 19 years. Looking for three full days a week, available starting June 10th. I taught 2s, 3s and 4s as well as elementary school aged children. I have been babysitting/nannying for over 30 years and I am experienced with children from newborns to preteens. I was a Girl Scout leader for many years until the meeting place our troop used was closed. I have been first aid and CPR certified (willing to recertify) and trained in giving many kinds of medication including EpiPens and asthma medications. I worked in a nut free school so I am very aware of allergens in food. I'm not a babysitter who parks the kids in front of the TV. I like to get on the floor and play with the kids. I love to read to children and get them interested in books. I like to sing, dance, do arts and crafts, play make believe, use my imagination to help them learn to use theirs, run around outside and have fun with the children in my care. Safety is my number one priority

The most important part about being a nanny...

Actually my favorite memory popped up on Facebook the other day. The two girls I was taking care of at the time each made me a craft at school that reminded them of me and when I asked why they made them, their answer was “because I love you.” Made my heart melt. I still see them, they FaceTime me an lot and occasionally babysit for them and their younger brother. They treat me like a part of their family and that is what I’m hoping to find with a new family
