A little bit about me

Hi! I’m a proud holistic, homeschooling mama to four children, ages 4, 13, 17, and 19. I started childcare at the age of 18 years old, just after having my first child. I have been in and out of childcare, pausing to explore other career paths, including real estate, insurance, corporate America, and finally health & life coaching in a functional health clinic and private practice. I finally returned to childcare in October 2023, nannying for a 3 week old and occasionally their 10yo son. I added a second family consisting of a 6mo, 2yo, and 7yo shortly after. My first family moved away and my current family is discontinuing after sudden financial challenges. My biggest passion is being a mother, teacher, and student.
Since 2014, I have also ran a side business in residential housekeeping and have also been a household manager. My skill set is quite vast and I’m still eager to continue to learn and develop new skills.
I am open to providing solutions to all of your household needs.

"Carol has been an absolute dream to have with our family. She is great with all 3 of my children ages 7, 3 and 11 months. My 7 year old has special needs and sometimes is difficult to care for due to her behavior, but Carol has never skipped a beat and has always dealt with every situation gracefully and gently. We’ve loved her gentle and creative approach with our kids, and have appreciated all she has done to go above and beyond every time she is at our home. We have been selling our home and having showings regularly. Carol jumps in to help clean and takes initiative to do whatever she can to help me to get out of the house (often times over and above her normal duties). She is tidy and leaves things tidy after she’s done which is huge. She also encourages outdoor time, gentle exercise/walking, healthy eating and overall wellbeing. When we hired her, we hoped for a great nanny but in the end, we ended up with someone who also feels like family. She truly is the best!"

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am a current nanny to a 6mo boy during the week, in Cary. I have excellent references who can tell you more about me, how my daughter blends seamlessly with their children, and my adaptability to move with your family’s needs.
I have worked in childcare as long am I have been a parent! My oldest is 19 (an ABA therapist/certified RBT), then the other three are 17(only son), 13, and 4yo.
I am only available for date nights after 6:30pm or weekends!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Although I’m a fan of adventures, I am happy to stay within the family’s comfort zone. Visiting local farms, walking through the forest and playing in creeks, museums and zoos, or anything else we could explore outdoors! Even just a walk around the neighborhood or enjoying the neighborhood playground. I enjoy arts and crafts, cooking together, reading (total bookworm, myself), and homeschooling micro learning activities. Pinterest is a huge inspiration for finding something fun to do on a too hot/too cold/ rainy day. Even the rainy days are fun with playing in the rain! We can get a loose or as structured as your family chooses — go with the flow or routine based. My daughter and I are happy to adapt!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Teaching our youth about having a healthy mindset, healthy body, and healthy relationships to themselves and others. For them to truly feel heard and understood. To disconnect from technology and get connected to each other and the world around us. To learn through play and hands on experience. Deepening their passions and encouraging development at their pace, where they are, and how they function best. I’m a certified health and life coach and understand the importance of our youth being able to navigate a world where they can control the controllables, helping them to develop healthy lifestyle habits.
