Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love taking the kids on outdoor activities like walking/hiking (within their abilities), pool (in the summer) picnics in the backyard, or anything else we can do outside!
I've found with younger kids they love hide and seek but board games/card games are a personal favorite. I love the hands on educational activities from Discovery and other brands (I've built robots, built a crystal aquarium and and other STEM related gadgets). I find kids get so excited about the activity they don't even realize they are learning.
Lastly with younger kids that are eager to help I often have them help when preparing a meal which aids in both fine and gross motor skills.
Overall, any activity that can aid in the child's growth both mentally and physically is a go for me!

The most important part about being a nanny...
I love knowing I can make the lives of the parents easier as I can only imagine the stress. I also love being an extra adult for the children to come to and being able to offer extra support so the children know they are important!
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for middle school special needs students with diagnosis's ranging from blindness, mild autism, severe autism, down syndrome, bipolar disorder, sexual trauma, learning disabilities, ADHD, behavioral difficulties and much more.
While working at camp I was the designated adult to two behaviorally troubled children often being the only employee to be able to reach the two kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...
While nannying two summers ago I would often take the 3 girls I watched to the local pool. The oldest, a 7 year old, always wanted to take the deep water test and jump off the diving board but was always too scared. At the end of the summer, she was feeling defeated and in a last ditch effort to help her finally take the test I offered to take it with her and she agreed! Luckily the younger girls were supportive and stayed close cheering us on, something that warmed my heart. She passed the test and when it was time for the diving board she was again scared. All three of us cheered her on and let her take her time. Eventually she jumped in and by the end of the day she was diving off the diving board. I was so proud of both her and her sisters, it makes me so happy to think about!

Part-Time Nanny Available in Asheville, NC: Meg R.
Hey there,
I am a ceramic artist and educator with a passion for making creative spaces. I have been working as a certified and trained in-home care provider since 2016. I am comfortable with children from the ages of 2 months and upwards, and I have experience working with multiples and children with special needs. I am always willing to meet the child and family where they are and grow from there.
I love to spend time outdoors and like to stay moving - I consider myself a self starter. I don't use screen time as play, and would much rather go for a walk to the park, pick up a book from the library, or make up a game.
Looking forward to new connections!

Hi! I’m Adeline! While new to full-time nannying, I grew up babysitting for many families and cherish the unique bonds built with each one. I got my bachelors degree in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine (CPR/First Aid certified), so your child’s physical and mental well-being is my absolute priority. To me, building confidence starts early by avoiding helplessness and fear. I love encouraging little ones to safely explore, try things on their own, and realize how capable they are! Whether navigating walking milestones or engaging with colors, shapes, and sounds.I'm a professional, clear communicator who genuinely loves cleaning and organizing to keep your home calm. Outside of work, I love hiking with my dog, reading, meditation, or any form of exercise!
