Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have a variety of experiences with people of all ages. I grew up caring for my cousins and other close relatives. I have babysitting experience and I have more professional care experience working in a nursing home and working at The Arc, an agency for people with developmental disabilities. I am a kind and genuine person with the skills to learn and adapt easily.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love all things creative. I love cooking and baking, cake decorating is my favorite. I also love watching plays and movies. I also love all things music and art.

My experience with special needs children...

I have years of lived experience as someone who has a developmental disability and who has struggled with managing a chronic illnesses. I'm currently learning how to live my life in the best way for me, and I find that any form of community (especially children and families) is the most helpful resource a person with a disability could have.

I have around a year of working with adults (18+) with developmental disabilities as a Direct Support Professional. My role gave me the skills and access to trainings relevant to caring for people.
