I am a retired teacher after 27 years. I babysat my 5 siblings as a kid and also babysat other families children. I also raised 3 of my own , 2 are college grads and one works as a manager for a Walgreens at 20.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing is take into account the needs of the kids and the parents. I’m not there to replace them but keep the family’s routines and help out while the parents work. I have to have patience and make the entire family feel comfortable to gain their trust. I’m actually there to enhance the family unit.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for children with ADHD, dyslexia, mobility issues in wheelchairs, anxiety and depression and special needs as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I taught kids how to play checkers and chess without the parents knowing and they ended up on a chess team at school and their grades went up too. Needless to say, the parents were shocked.
